Riverfront North Partnership Announces Councilmember Bobby Henon as 2020 Award Recipient of the Robert A. Borski Jr. Award for Excellence
Riverfront North Partnership is pleased to announce that Bobby Henon, Philadelphia’s Councilmember for the 6th District, is this year’s recipient of the Robert A. Borski Jr. Award for Excellence. This award, normally given at the annual Riverfront North Partnership Spring Fling Fundraiser- but delayed due to COIVD-19, has been awarded six times to prominent individuals who are key to advancing the Riverfront North Partnership vision of a continuous eleven-mile network of parks and trails along the Delaware River in Northeast Philadelphia. Previous winners include: Hon. Allyson Schwartz, Mark Hankin, Ron Greller, Frank Mayer III Esq., James McAneney.
“Bobby is a truly hard-working representative for the people of Northeast Philadelphia, and has been instrumental in the success and growth of the Riverfront North vision. He has provided a key connection in city relations and has made significant strides in creating green spaces in our part of the city and reconnecting the people of the community to their river” said former United States Congressman Bob Borski, Chairman of the Board of Riverfront North Partnership. “We’re proud to be able to honor him for his support of Riverfront North Partnership and his commitment to our efforts in building this network of parks and trails that will enhance the quality of life in the community we serve.”

The award was presented to Councilmember Henon at Pennypack on the Delaware Park, a gem of the Riverfront North park system located in the Holmesburg section along the Delaware River, boasting 130 acres of open space, trails, wildlife and riverfront views.
