United By Blue – Shoreline Cleanup
United By Blue is hosting a beach cleanup event in Philadelphia, PA! And we’re encouraging you to get outside and practice environmental stewardship with us!
Please join United By Blue for a fun-filled Community Cleanup Event by volunteering to clean up your local waterway. The focus of the day will be cleaning up litter and debris from the shoreline of Philadelphia’s own Delaware River. This could include the removal of items as large as tires and abandoned household furniture to as small as pesky microplastics and ever-abundant snack packaging; all cleaned up with the overarching goal of stopping it from leaching into or physically entering the watershed, which in this case, includes the Delaware River!
United By Blue is a sustainable lifestyle brand with a one-for-one mission to clean our worlds blue spaces and keep them clean for future generations to come. This means for every one item we sell, we vow to remove one pound of trash from an ocean, coastline, or waterway – with a whopping 4 million pounds (and counting!) removed to-date.
This waterway cleanup event is in partnership with the Philadelphia Water Department, Riverfront North, and The Academy of Natural Sciences in their own efforts to support the growing need for environmental preservation and restoration through community engagement.
All cleanup participants will receive a thoughtfully crafted gift to carry their sustainability efforts into daily life, as well as complimentary snacks and refreshments for their volunteerism.
All levels of environmental stewards are welcome!
United By Blue will adhere to all local regulations pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic. This event is fully outdoors and efforts will be made to keep volunteer groups spread out. While a mask is not required for this event, masks are welcome. Our reusable cleanup supplies are industrially cleaned between uses, but we welcome volunteers to bring their own supplies if they feel more comfortable.
All United By Blue cleanups are ability inclusive. If you anticipate needing ability-related accommodations, please contact email@example.com ahead of time.
All volunteers who register for the cleanup through this link will receive an email the week of the cleanup with details on parking, weather, what to bring, and all other necessary details.
Supplies will be distributed on a first come first serve basis to volunteers.
