Bring the whole family to have some fun along the river. We are working with partners at the Philadelphia Free Library system to create events to keep kids entertained and learning all while enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

Family Fun By The River

No need to register, just join us, at two different times and places (full details at bottom of page):

Every Other Tuesday 1:30pm-3:30pm (Pennypack on the Delaware)

Thursdays 1-3:30pm (in the field area at Pleasant Hill Park!)

Kid Field games(corn hole, horseshoes, hula hoops, balls, giant jenga, giant connect 4 and more! ) arts and crafts and nature activities!

Fish Storytime

June 28th 1:30 – 3:30pm (Pennypack on the Delaware): Eat Like a Bird

All birds do not have teeth. So how do they eat? Birds have different beaks that are designed for different food. Come learn about different bird beaks with a fun activity.

June 30th 1pm – 3:30pm (Pleasant Hill Park): Food Web

There is an intricate web of producers, consumers, and decomposer. Come learn the difference and the important role they play.

July 7th 1pm – 3:30pm (Pleasant Hill Park): Animal Challenge

Animals have some amazing abilities. Come learn some animal trivia.

July 12th 1:30 – 3:30pm (Pennypack on the Delaware): Frog / Toad

Frogs and toads seem the same, but they have a lot of differences. Come learn about these cool creatures and make a fun craft.

July 14th 1pm – 3:30pm (Pleasant Hill Park): Crazy about Camouflage

There are many ways that animals protect themselves from predators. Camouflage is just one of them. Come learn how blending in helps animals survive.

There are many different trees around us, and they have different benefits. Come learn about all the trees around us.

July 26th 1:30 – 3:30pm (Pennypack on the Delaware): Insect vs. Spider

Spiders and insects might seem creepy but are cool and are important to the ecosystem. Come learn about there cool creatures and make a fun craft.

July 28th 1pm – 3:30pm (Pleasant Hill Park): Reptiles / Amphibians

Reptiles and amphibians are similar but are two different groups of animals. Come learn about the difference and make a turtle craft.

August 4th 1pm – 3:30pm (Pleasant Hill Park): A Seeds Great Adventure

Seeds travel in many ways. Learn about a tiny seeds great adventure through a fun activity.

August 9th 1:30 – 3:30pm (Pennypack on the Delaware): Tale of a Tree

There are many different trees around us, and they have different benefits. Come learn about all the trees around us. Also make a cool craft.

August 11th 1pm – 3:30pm (Pleasant Hill Park): Leave No Trace

There are seven principles to leave no trace. Come learn about them and how you can implement them on your next hike.

There are many different animals that live in all sorts of places. Come learn about animals and the places they live.
