Free Outdoor Movie Series This Summer

Northeast Philadelphia’s biggest outdoor movie series, presented by Riverfront North Partnership, is kicking off this Tuesday, July 17th at the Bridesburg Recreation Center (4601 Richmond Street). The series will start off with a screening of family favorite “Despicable Me 3”. The movie will start at sundown and various kids activities will be available starting at 7:30pm. Councilman Bobby Henon’s office will be giving away water ice while supplies last, and the Philadelphia Insectarium & Butterfly Pavilion will be nearby for kids and adults alike to explore and learn about a number of critters and butterflies. *****If there is Rain, the movie will be moved inside of Bridesburg Rec in the gym. Movie will still start at around 8:15. If there is rain, due to limited space, pre-movie kids activities will not be available.

 

 

 

The remaining five movies will be shown in the soccer field in Pennypack on the Delaware Park and are scheduled as follows:

 

Thursday July 19th – The Little Mermaid

Thursday July 26th – A Bug’s Life

Thursday August 2nd – Ghostbusters (1984)

Thursday August 9th  – Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Thursday August 16th – Back to the Future  (*Date Night – no kids activities)

 

The Free Outdoor Movie Series is presented by Riverfront North Partnership with funding from Councilman Bobby Henon. Movies this summer are sponsored by: Bridesburg Community Development Corp., Just Born Inc., Philadelphia Federal Credit Union and the Delaware Valley Cremation Center/The State Room. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs/blankets and snacks.
