Friends of Borski Park is Official!

All You Need to Know About Getting Involved
In anticipation of Borski Park’s opening this July, a meeting was held on February 26, 2025 to formally adopt a Friends Group to help care for this space. This group is known as the Friends of Riverfront North at Borski Park. Borski Park is located at Orthodox Street and Delaware Avenue, right along the riverfront.
Why a Friends Group?
- Are the “Eyes and Ears” who are the pulse of the community
- Contribute to program ideas. Active parks are safer and more enjoyable for the community!
- Help beautiful 10-acres in Bridesburg along the riverfront.
- To become a part of a network of 140 community-run groups throughout the City of Philadelphia. This helps to learn from each other, build relationships with city partners and to work together to make parks vibrant, inviting and active public spaces.
Who are the Officers?
As part of the meeting, a slate of officers was voted in for a one-year term:
- Jennifer Allen, President
- Courtney Hunter-Stangler, Vice President
- Stacy Schwab, Secretary
- Gina Craigo, RNP Designee/Treasure
What are the Next Steps?
Follow-up meetings are planned in the coming months to:
- Contribute to the program plan for Borski. Currently in the works are yoga, volleyball, cardio drumming, nature walks and more.
- Help with stewardship events that will further beautify these 10-acres.
- Plan the Ribbon Cutting event – Borski Splash!
