NEW ART ON THE K&T TRAIL

In conjunction with the new section of trail opening next month banners were installed in Lardner’s Point Park as part of a collaboration between Riverfront North Partnership, and Mural Arts/Tacony LAB artist in residence Lisa Kelley .

This project was a journey to reconnect current residents with the indigenous Lenape roots of the land along the Delaware River in Tacony. Through a series of free events, local community members translated nature observations along the trail into printmaking in the studio that were used in this final project. These art pieces culminated into the creation of 11 banners prominently displayed along the riverfront park paths as a celebration of nature in these spaces and the deeply rooted indigenous history. Stay tuned for a short video about this project from our partners at Tacony LAB coming soon.
