Trail Tales

TRAIL TALES:
Meet some of the fine folks frequenting and volunteering in the Riverfront North parks and trails!

Meet Edward

Meet Edward. He volunteered his time two weekends in a row this October to plant hundreds of trees at Pennypack on the Delaware.

“I’m glad to be able to come on out and help to do the little bit I can because I think that every little bit makes a difference. I believe what we are doing will help the environment tremendously. The more trees we can plant the better stewards we can be for our planet to make a difference.”

Thank you Edward for all of your support and hard work.

Meet Michelle

Meet Michelle! She volunteered with us in October to help get 350 trees in the ground in Northeast Philly.

“I’ve been in this park for almost 40 years and I love it. My favorite thing to do is bike around here, so to see more trees get planted makes me really happy. I think planting these trees is great for the watershed and I think it is great for the community to feel a part of it. To actually get dirty and get the trees in the ground, might make them think twice about littering. This whole area didn’t exist when I was young, so this is huge.”

Tree planting projects like these are only possible because of the support of Riverfront NorthTrailblazers. Will you join as a Trailblazer today for only $25 and help transform the riverfront?

Meet Josh

“I discovered Lardner’s Point Park when the quarantine started. Going to parks during the lockdown kind of got me back ‘into the real world again’ so that was helpful. Getting fresh air and getting outside is great for my mental and physical health”

So nice meeting you Josh, and we can’t wait to meet more of you out along the trails and in the parks of Riverfront North.
