Art in the Parks: Lenapehokink Perspectives

Riverfront North partnered again with the Tacony LAB in 2023, this time with artist Lisa Kelley who facilitated printmaking workshops inspired by nature and exploration during guided walks along the Delaware riverfront near Lardner’s Point Park.  This artist residency coincided with the opening the K&T II, a key section of trail that connects three trailhead parks, highlighting the journey that this land has taken between its Indigenous Lenape roots, to its heavy industrial use, now to the establishment of the greenway and a return to stewarding the land for all to enjoy.

The final project included a colorful series of banners installed on light poles at Lardner’s Point Park that each highlighted an animal of Lenape significance, with each background developed during the printmaking workshops.
