Bridesburg Writer’s Workshop Concludes

Through funding from a BIG grant, Bridesburg resident Courtney Hunter-Stangler led a six-week session of writing classes, offered free to the community. The Writing Family Memories Workshop offered a group of seven different writers the chance to usher in the holidays through personal essay. I Knead Coffee served as the perfect location for our workshop, providing Christmas music and the opportunity to purchase delicious seasonally inspired treats. The group wrapped up just in time for Thanksgiving, and participants will be walking away with detail-rich essays about everything from the tradition of family dinners, going to watch the ABC Thanksgiving Day Parade down at the Parkway, and even personal deep-dives into the meaning of gift giving.

Thank you, Courtney, for bringing community together in such a reflective, thoughtful way.  Funding will be available for the first half of 2024 for community-led programming in Bridesburg.  If you have an idea or suggestion, please reach out to gina@riverfrontnorth.org.
